The short answer
In GrimLister Batch Upload, add your photo session and choose Auto Group Items. Inspect the proposed item groups, correct any split or combined products, and confirm any grouping prompt shown before starting preparation. Each group should represent one item or lot being sold.
1. Keep the source photo sequence organized
Photograph each item completely before moving to the next one. Include detail views and the associated SKU card together. A predictable sequence makes the item boundaries easier to review.
For similar products, such as several hats or pairs of shoes, include a distinguishing label or detail. Two nearly identical front views alone may not provide enough information to separate the products reliably.
2. Run Auto Group Items
Open Batch Upload, add the photos, and use Auto Group Items when the control is available. Let the grouping operation finish and read the result.
Some grouping situations show an Apply Auto Grouping or Keep current grouping decision. Review the proposed change before applying it; do not assume an earlier grouping has changed until the app confirms the result.
3. Inspect the boundaries
Scroll through the entire batch. Checking only the first item can miss an error later in a long session.
- Every product has its own intended set of photos.
- Front, back, labels, and measurements stay together.
- A lot contains exactly the pieces being sold as that lot.
- SKU cards are associated with the correct item.
- Stray or duplicate photos do not become unintended listings.
4. Correct the groups before processing
Use the photo selection and group controls to move images to the correct item or combine a split item. Merge with above item is useful when one product has been divided into adjacent groups. Recheck the result after each change.
Deleting an image and removing a whole item group are different actions. Confirm what is selected and what the control will remove before using it.
5. Check the prepared listing too
After preparation, confirm the generated identity and category match the final photo group. A photo correction is only useful if the listing text also describes the right product.
Keep the original photos until you know the listing workflow has completed successfully. If you encounter an incomplete transfer, follow the app’s recovery message before continuing.
Common questions
Do I need a SKU card for auto-grouping?
No. Auto-grouping can use the item photo sequence. A readable card can provide additional boundaries and inventory information when you choose to use one.
What if one item becomes two groups?
Use the grouping controls to combine the relevant images, then check that the resulting group contains exactly that item before processing.
